Advanex Celebrate 80 Years of Precision Engineering Excellence
We are pleased to announce that 2017 sees Advanex celebrating 80 years of precision engineering excellence.
Originally started in 1937 (formerly GE Haywood Spring Manufacturer), we began producing valves for domestic, textile markets. Since then, Advanex has had various trading names, including Entex Springs, and has grown from a 2 man operation to a multi-site, world class manufacturer employing over 180 people in the Nottingham area.
Our course of expansion has seen us occupy various sites around Nottingham now at Southwell and Glaisdale Drive, Bilborough. The early days of Advanex saw the design and manufacture of valves and springs for large-scale equipment predominantly for the local textile industry. At one point we were also the largest manufacturer for floppy disk components. We now manufacture millions of springs and other precision metal components for industries covering medical, pharmaceutical, aerospace, electronics and the automotive markets. Advanex have also developed the unique Kato CoilThread®, an insert that can save up to 40% installation time compared to conventional inserts.
Ian Beardsmore, Managing Director comments “We are immensely proud to be celebrating 80 years of business. Our business has evolved to become a key employer within Nottinghamshire. We are excited about the next 80 years and have ambitious growth plans for the future”.
