Manufacturing Engineer

Advanex Europe is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to provide engineering and technical support to all departments within the company, with particular focus on production, procurement and process improvements. We are looking for someone who can provide a comprehensive service to the business, whilst promoting a positive, service-focused culture to enable us to BE BRILLIANT!

 

The role will be based at our Southwell site initially, but after that, there will be the requirement to work at both our Southwell and Bilborough sites, with visits to our factory in the Czech Republic.

 

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • New process and product development (in line with the project plan and budget)
  • Optimisation of e.g. workflow, process and cost improvements, and to work on projects to capitalise these
  • NPI projects to be completed in line with our pre-agreed NPI process, our customer specification requirements and internal functional needs
  • Determine new and improved tools, fixturing and supporting equipment to facilitate delivery of product (new or existing)
  • Manage engineering change control to ensure internal process changes have traceability and are completed in line with timing plans
  • Support all actions required for FMEA and control plan activities for new and existing projects
  • Technical support for the Sales Team, including with quotations and technical issues
  • Daily support for the Operations Team on manufacturing issues affecting current production
  • Adherence to Quality Management System, Work Instructions, Good Manufacturing Practices, departmental and company procedures throughout
  • Attend/present at section and company meetings as required
  • Develop positive relationships with customers, suppliers and contractors as well as colleagues

 

Person Specification

 

  • Essential
    • Excellent project management skills
    • Proven expertise in manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing & ISO standards
    • Ability to identify and deliver improvements in a structured and controlled manner
    • Good IT and literacy skills (MS Office)
    • Able to present information to audiences of differing skill levels
    • Keen attention to detail
    • Excellent organisation, co-ordination and leadership skills

 

  • Desirable
    • Educated to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline (HNC minimum)
    • Knowledge of ERP systems
    • Solidworks 3D experience
    • AutoCAD 2D experience
