Machine Setter

To set and operate designated equipment and machinery to manufacture product in line with Quality specifications and in accordance with the Production schedule. 

To assist and provide technical support for the continuous improvement and development of manufacturing processes.

Your main duties and responsibilities:

To be carried out in accordance with Quality Management System, Work Instructions, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), departmental and company procedures including but not limited to:

  • To set and operate machines to manufacture product to Quality specification 
  • Monitor and accurately record production Quality in line with company procedures 
  • Assist with the training of production personnel 
  • Carry out tooling repair/refurbishment as/when required 
  • Assist with process development on both existing and new products to facilitate continuous improvement in H&S, Quality and Productivity 
  • Maintain machines and ancillary equipment in line with procedures as designated by the Operations Team Leader 
  • Attend agreed training and development training to improve personal, relevant business knowledge, techniques and skills 
  • Perform any other duties as reasonably required by your Manager 


Communication, Attributes and Relationships

  • Communicate and liaise with your deputy/deputies to ensure the smooth running of your role during times of absence and provide training to ensure the nominated deputy is able to perform the basic functions of your role to provide adequate cover.
  • Attend, present and provide a positive contribution at meetings as necessary
  • Communicate departments with any item that could affect lead times and other commercial factors.
