80 Years Celebrations
We are pleased to announce that 2017 sees Advanex celebrating 80 years of precision engineering excellence.
Originally started in 1937 (formerly GE Haywood Spring Manufacturer), we began producing valves for domestic, textile markets. Since then, Advanex has had various trading names, including Entex Springs, and has grown from a 2 man operation to a multi-site, world class manufacturer employing over 180 people in the Nottingham area.
Ian Beardsmore, Managing Director comments “We are immensely proud to be celebrating 80 years of business. Our business has evolved to become a key employer within Nottinghamshire. We are excited about the next 80 years and have ambitious growth plans for the future”.

New: Spring Calculator
We have recently added our new Spring Calculator to the Advanex.co.uk website. This handy tool allows you to specify your spring requirements and calculates which products are suitable.
The new tool is available to those who register their details with us on our website.
Spotlight On: John Mason
John Mason has recently joined our team as UK Sales Manager. John brings a wealth of experience and strong track record in sales. John’s career history includes previous roles with Henkel and Fuchs Lubricants.
John is a big Manchester City fan and spends a lot of his time coaching both football and cricket. His son is an up and coming cricket star who plays for Lancashire under 15’s!
With bags of energy and enthusiasm, John is looking forward to developing strong relationships with both our new and existing customers.
Welcome to the team John.
Paul Clifford & Chris Green Retire With 48 Years Combined Service
Paul Clifford (Chairman) and Chris Green (Operations Director) have recently retired from Advanex. Paul and Chris have been instrumental in the development of Advanex Europe over the past 20 years.
Paul came to our Southwell site back in 1991 when our main product offerings were the metal components in Micro Floppy Discs. When the market for these products started to disappear, Paul oversaw the technology transfer of our world-famous KATO® CoilThread® inserts.
Chris joined our Southwell factory in 1995. The exact time we were establishing our CoilThread® manufacturing processes. If ever there was a case for the right man at the right the time, this was it and Chris was he. Chris led projects in developing tooling and designing highly innovative manufacturing equipment.
It is hard to put into words how pivotal Paul and Chris have been in the success of Advanex over the past two decades. Their tremendous contributions will never be forgotten.
Everyone at Advanex Europe would like to place on record their thanks to Paul and Chris for their immense hard work and dedication during their time here. We would also like to wish them many happy years of retirement.
Fundraising For Nottingham Hospitals Charity
Our teams have been busy fundraising again! This time we have recently handed a cheque over to the Nottingham Hospitals Charity for over £1,500!
Last year, two of our team members, Nav Champaneri (inside left) and Chris Peet (middle) suffered heart attacks. With the help of the Morris Ward in the Trent Cardiac Centre both Nav and Chris have recovered.
We are eternally grateful for the support and care that the team showed. The £1,500 raised is a small token of thanks to the ward, which can be used towards new machinery.
