We have all kinds of activity planned for the months ahead and wanted to share our latest news stories. In this newsletter we focus on our work to achieve AS9100 certification for our work in the aerospace industry, our recent coverage in a prominent magazine and our recent festive fundraising efforts.           AS9100 Certification News We have now formally registered our intent with BSI to achieve the AS9100 certification. AS9100 is a widely adopted and standardized quality management system for the aerospace industry. The team at Advanex Southwell has agreed a schedule for the 3 stage process that will be completed over the coming months. By achieving the AS9100 certification it will give aerospace companies confidence that they are buying from vetted and approved suppliers. Gary Crawley, Head of Quality Assurance & Systems highlights, "Both the AS9100 and the medical certification ISO13485 are very demanding standards that reinforce our commitment and quality standards to providing products for these markets". We are hoping to obtain final approval by the end of 2016 so watch this space! Customer Surveys We are still asking our customers to complete our Annual Surveys via an email invitation. Speaking with our customers and understanding what we are doing well and where we can do better is really important to us so that we can continue to improve and products and services. Your thoughts really count so please complete the survey when you receive an invitation – they take around 5 minutes to complete. Our Recent Coverage in Ondrugdelivery We have recently had an article published in ONdrugdelivery magazine that discusses the various ways our engineers and designers seek to reduce metal particulate in medical products. The article considers a range of different techniques including vibrartory deburring, clean manufacturing areas and ultrasonic cleaning. Our team of designers and engineers have expert knowledge of how to reduce metal particulate – the article is definetly worth a read! Click here to read the article Our Festive Fundraising Efforts The figures are in and we are pleased to announce that with our fundraising activities on the run up to Christmas we raised over £2,000 for the Teenager Cancer Trust at the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham. Our efforts included a festive lunch at both sites and a Christmas gift raffle, which raised £1,025. Advanex then doubled the amount totalling £2,050.
