As Christmas is fast approaching, we wanted to share some of our latest news stories. The teams at both sites have been very busy this year working on all kinds of projects. In this newsletter we wanted to share updates on our top news stories including our recent ISO 13485 certification, our recent award win, the fundraising work we have done with Shelter and a feature on Mark Wootton, our Automotive Sales Engineer. 2016 is set to be a very exciting year for us. Here's to 2016 and beyond...           Medical ISO 13485 Certification We are pleased to announce that we have recently obtained the Medical ISO 13485 Certification - the world's most recognised medical device standard. We have been working hard to obtain the certification, which covers the medical and pharmaceutical manufacturing hall and associated support functions at the Southwell site. In particular, the approval recognises that Advanex Europe: Has senior management that are involved and dedicated to quality Are firmly committed to meeting customer expectations Focuses on risk management and strict design and change controls Has controls in the work environment that ensure product conformance and safety Paul Clifford, Managing Director explains, "We are extremely pleased to have achieved the ISO 13485 certification. We are passionate about working with our medical and pharmaceutical customers in maintaining regulatory compliance. The certification has been the next logical step from our GMP compliance and has helped us to ensure that we are delivering the best possible service to our customers across the globe. Our talented teams remain firmly committed to working in partnerships with our clients to nurture device innovation and production efficiencies". Advanex Scoops Prestigious Local Business Award We are pleased to confirm that we have been announced as winners of the Training & Staff Development Award 2015 from the Newark Business Awards. Winning the award is a fantastic achievement and is testament to the strong emphasis we place on the training and development of our people. We are fully committed to developing and nurturing a highly skilled workforce. Our people currently benefit from a range of development tools including training plans, skills analysis, appraisals and on and off the job training. We issue these to our customers each year, as we are always keen to understand where we are performing well and those areas in which we can do better. Spotlight On: Mark Wootton, Automotive Sales Engineer Introducing Mark Wootton, Automotive Sales Engineer... Mark has been with Advanex Europe for over 35 years in various roles! Initially, Mark spent 10 years in the Technical Office designing springs and working on a range of engineering projects. After progressing to a role as a Field Sales Representative, Mark is confident that he has worked in every county in the UK. Marks' current role is that of Automotive Sales Engineer for the whole of the UK. This means that Mark manages and develops automotive accounts to help drive growth in this market. This covers both existing and new automotive clients. As you can see from the pictures of Mark, outside of work he has a real passion for the great outdoors. He really enjoys spending his time skiing in the French Alps and kayaking off the coasts of both Wales and Scotland with his partner of 30 years, Philippa. Advanex Bilborough Start A New Christmas Fundraising Tradition This year instead of giving Christmas cards the team at Advanex Bilborough decided to use the money to put together goody boxes for the Framework Housing Association in Nottingham. Homelessness is a complicated issue and Framework is dedicated to helping homeless people, preventing homelessness and promoting opportunities for excluded and vulnerable people. The team had great fun in putting together some fantastic goody boxes with items ranging from everyday essentials to festive luxuries. Well done to everyone involved!
