In this newsletter we take a look at our latest news stories that include our fantastic achievement with AS9100 approval, our Ruban d’Honneur success, recent fundraising efforts and the forthcoming FAST Exhibition.           AS9100 Approval After months of hard work we are pleased to confirm that we have achieved AS9100 approval – the world’s most recognised aerospace quality standard. The AS9100 approval relates to KATO CoilThread® which is produced at our Southwell site. The aerospace industry has numerous applications for KATO CoilThread® including seating, engine assembly and dashboard instrumentation. A passenger aircraft can contain in excess of 300,000 inserts. With KATO CoilThread® Tangless inserts, installation and removal time is 40% quicker than using traditional inserts that contain a tang that requires breaking off and accounting for. A huge well done to everyone involved in achieving this! We Have Reached The Final Of Europe’s Largest Business Awards In one of our previous newsletters we announced that Advanex had been selected as a National Champion in the European Business Awards. As part of these awards Advanex has also been acknowledged as a Ruban d’Honneur recipient. The judges awarded this to Advanex as we demonstrated exceptional achievements in working ethics, success and core values. The European Business Awards involves over 33,000 businesses across Europe and will conclude with a Gala Evening in Dubrovnik, early May. A big thank you to anyone that has voted for us in the public voting round. Fingers crossed for the awards ceremony! Dave Betts Retires After 27 Years Of Service Dave Betts, our Senior Buyer at our Bilborough site has recently retired after completing 27 years of service with Advanex. To mark the occasion, a group of past and present employees headed into Nottingham's Slug & Lettuce for an evening of food, drink and tales from the past. A count was carried out on the night of those present and it worked out at 576 years of service between the 27 of them! We would like to thank Dave for his hard work during his time with Advanex. Here’s to a relaxing and fun filled retirement! 11th May - Fast Exhibition We will be exhibiting at the FAST Exhibition on 11th May. The event takes place at the National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham. The FAST Exhibition is the UK's only dedicated fastening, bonding and assembly exhibition for design engineers, production professionals, senior manufacturing managers and fastener buyers. Our Festive Fundraiser Raised Over £1300 Our teams have been busy fundraising for the Nottingham Hospitals Charity and have raised £1369. This was in addition to taking part in National Christmas Jumper Day and a donation to the local charity Framework that helps local homeless and vunerable people.
